Get to know Lhamo Sharzur, StrideLabs Apprentice!
Q: How did you hear about StrideLabs and what interested you most?
I was introduced to StrideLabs by my previous instructor, who asked if I would be interested in joining another apprenticeship. At the time, I had just completed a program in web development but wished to broaden my skills and gain new experiences in other fields. The prospect of learning about Salesforce administration intrigued me, as I had a very limited understanding of it. Once I began to research the role and saw how it merged aspects in both business and technology into one career, I couldn’t help but want to learn more about it!
Q: What did you hope at the start of your apprenticeship?
At the beginning of the apprenticeship, I hoped to understand the responsibilities of the administrator position and their overall role in Salesforce. However, as I continued to meet with Michele, my team, our mentors, and our real-world clients at Nevada Rural Counties Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (NVRSVP), I realized that there was so much more to the admin role than I had initially believed. What began as a spark of curiosity soon grew into a drive for knowledge. This discovery made me even more excited to pursue an Administration role.
Q: What are your short-term and long-term career and educational goals
At present, my short-term goals are to continue learning and growing in all things Salesforce through this apprenticeship with StrideLabs, and to provide assistance to our clients at NVRSVP with their Salesforce Instance. Regarding my long-term goals, I plan to take the Salesforce Certified Administrator Exam in the near future to advance my career with Salesforce.
Q: What are you enjoying the most about the apprenticeship so far?
Although it has only been a couple of months since I began this apprenticeship, I feel like I have truly grown as an individual. From learning through Trailhead modules to working with our clients, the work I do makes me feel like I am making a difference. It has been amazing being able to manage and organize NVRSVP’s Salesforce Instance and see how it ultimately helps them work more efficiently in providing volunteer services to the elderly. It is one thing to learn online, but to train with our mentors and work directly with clients makes this experience invaluable. I enjoy the balance of learning new skills and putting them into practice, which I believe is vital in my experience. The hands-on learning and real-world applications I provide have significantly deepened my understanding and skills and I would not have been able to achieve this growth without StrideLabs.
Q: What has it been like working with the StrideLabs team?
It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know and work with the StrideLabs team. I have been able to learn and grow significantly throughout this program thanks to the aid and encouragement I receive from them. I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such knowledgeable and supportive mentors, and I look forward to continuing my journey with StrideLabs!
